Calgary police are still trying to find out who a man they think was part of at least one bank heist is.
Around 6 p.m. on March 1, a person wearing a mask entered an RBC Royal Bank branch in the Sunridge area of the city, at 2929 Sunridge Way Northeast.
The person gave a note to a staff member and indicated that they had a weapon. While the staff member was following the instructions in the note, the person suddenly moved away from the teller's window and left the bank without taking any money before the police arrived.
The police said no weapon was visible and no one was hurt.
The Calgary Police Service believes the person was also responsible for a bank robbery on Feb. 17 at a Scotiabank branch on Crowchild Trail Southwest.
The suspect is described by the police as being around 30 years old, about five-feet-eight-inches tall, weighing 200 pounds, with a red beard. The suspect was last seen wearing a gray hat with a red stripe, a blue medical mask, a black vest, a black hoodie, blue jeans, and black and white shoes.
The CPS also think the suspect was driving a blue Dodge Ram 1500.
Anyone with information about the incident or who knows the person's identity is asked to contact the police at 403-266-1234. Anonymous tips can also be given to Crime Stoppers.
