Alexa Nikolas, known for her role as Nicole Bristow on 'Zoey 101,' thoroughly examined Dan Schneider's apology Dan Schneider's apology after the release of 'Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV.'
The former Nickelodeon star did a 2-hour livestream on Tuesday watching Schneider's apology and pausing to point out instances of predatory behavior and power dynamics. “It's like he suddenly had a meltdown, that's how he's behaving. Like, 'I'm sorry, it was just this one-time thing that affected people,'” Nikolas commented. “I don't feel any remorse from him. He's not even crying. I understand everyone processes emotions differently, but I don't sense any sincerity from you Dan. I don't sense anything.”
“It's embarrassing for you, dude, stop it. Two women were sharing a salary. Let's get to the point,” Nikolas continued.
“You feel nothing, Dan. You're like every privileged white male I've encountered on set. You don't grasp the concept of accountability.”
The “Walking Dead” star also analyzed the way interviewer BooG!e, who played T-Bo on “iCarly,” conversed with Schneider using “locker room talk.” “There's a power imbalance. You're being sly Schneider. See what you did there? I want you to watch this by yourself,” Nikolas said.“'You worked for me,' because you wanted someone who worked for you. This is all about power and control, Dan. You're still following the same pattern. For example, this is why with predators, you take something away, they'll find a way to adapt, to find a way to access what they want no matter what.”
Later in the video, the actress specifically focused on Schneider's alleged mistreatment of women, referring to footage of “Victorious” star Ariana Grande that has highlighted his questionable behavior.
“We understand your view of women, Dan. Like me, for instance. Just boy-crazy. I had no thoughts of my own. I was only boy-crazy, clueless, and couldn't play basketball. Adorable. Yuck.” Watch Nikolas' full YouTube video below:“This is all about power and control,” the former Nickelodeon actress says after the docuseries called out her old boss’ behavior
“We get how you view women, by the way, Dan. Like me, for example,” she said. “Just boy-crazy. I didn’t have a mind at all. I was just boy-crazy and dumb and didn’t know how to play basketball. Cute. Bleh.”
