A team of colleagues from Koostatak, Man. (Fisher River Cree Nation), have won a significant lottery prize.
The Western Canada Lottery Corporation revealed on Wednesday that Aaron Mason, Cynthia Anderson, Douglas Murdock, and John Carson won slightly over $100,000 in the Lotto 6/49 and Extra draw on Feb. 28 by using a ticket purchased at a community gas station and convenience store.
The group mentioned that they have been purchasing tickets regularly for many years.
"I didn't realize we had won until the cashier checked the ticket," said Mason, who claimed the prize, which resulted in each of the four receiving approximately $25,000. I just went quiet for a moment and then immediately called the other group members. It was such a surprise."
