The Elekole of Ikole Ekiti, Oba Adewunmi Fasiku, stated that the community has given 20 hectares of land to assist in the smooth beginning of the newly authorized Federal Medical Centre, Ikole Ekiti.
Fasiku praised President Bola Tinubu for upgrading the specialist hospital in the community to FMC and described it as a significant development which the community would guard with great care.
The Elekole, represented by the Olotinoba Ode of Ikole, who is the Second-in-Command to the Elekole, Chief Oluwasayo Okunola and the Asolo of Ikole, who is also the Chairman, Traditional Chiefs in Ekiti, Chief Olu Ogunsakin, spoke at a well-attended appreciation rally at Ikole Ekiti on Wednesday.
Among the messages on the signs held during the rally are “Grateful for the upgrade to medical center”, “FMC Ikole, thank you Mr President”, “Thank you for making healthcare accessible to all”, Healthcare transformation appreciated” and “Ikole Youths say Thank you Mr President”.
Oba Fasiku said, “FMC at Ikole Ekiti would enhance better access to high-quality healthcare delivery by people and speed up economic growth.”
The community leaders took the chance to urge the government to help stop the increase in kidnapping in the area and provide more social facilities.
Also, in their contributions, the Alamo of Ilamo, Oba Adebayo Awoseyila, described the approval of FMC in Ikole as a blessing.
The Chairmen of Ikole Local Government, Chief Bayo Omojola and Ikole West LCDA, Mrs Mosunmola Adeyemo, stated that the hospital would bring infrastructure development and generate employment for the many young individuals.
