Calgary police are seeking assistance in finding a man they suspect of committing a sexual assault in the southwestern part of the city.
At approximately 1:15 a.m. on Sunday, March 10, an unidentified man approached a woman waiting at a bus stop on 37th Street Southwest between 26th and 28th Avenue Southwest.
The man, who was carrying a crowbar, then demanded that the woman follow him behind a nearby business. He physically and sexually assaulted her there, as per the police.
A nearby resident heard the woman's cries for help and intervened, causing the suspect to flee. The Good Samaritan contacted the police, and the victim was taken to the hospital.
James Francis Pritchard, 47, is being sought on warrants related to sexual assault with a weapon.
Pritchard is described as about five feet 11 inches tall, 190 pounds with a slim build, short grey hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing dark sleeves, light blue jeans, white shoes, and carrying a dark-colored backpack.
