United Kingdom’s King Charles III welcomed Korean War veterans to Buckingham Palace on Tuesday, marking his first public appearance since rumors of his death began circulating online.
The royal family made this announcement on social media.
The royal family posted, “This morning, the King met veterans of the Korean War at Buckingham Palace to commemorate 70 years since the signing of the armistice that ended the conflict.”
The UK embassy in Russia had to issue a statement on Monday to refute reports of the 75-year-old king's death from cancer, clarifying that “reports about the death of King Charles are FAKE.”
In early February, Buckingham Palace confirmed that the British monarch had been diagnosed with cancer, without specifying the type and stage.
While undergoing “regular treatments,” King Charles postponed his public duties, according to Buckingham Palace.
