The eight suspended members of the Zamfara State House of Assembly have taken the Speaker, Bilyaminu Moriki, and six others to the Federal High Court, Gusau, the state capital.
The state House of Assembly had suspended the eight members for the alleged violation of the law and constitution of the assembly.
However, the suspended lawmakers went to court, challenging the violation of their constitutional rights to freedom, human dignity, fair hearing, and taking control of their property without proper procedure.
Others that were included in the lawsuit are the state Commissioner of Justice, the Clerk of the House, the state Commissioner of police, and the Director of the Department of State Services.
The judge, Justice Aminu Bappa, approved the motion and postponed the case to April 29 for a hearing to allow the court to notify the respondents who claimed they did not receive any letter from the registry.
