George Lucas came in on Tuesday to back Bob Iger in Disney's struggle against activist investor Nelson Peltz, stating that its current leaders are the ones who understand Disney the best.
Lucas expressed that making magic is a job for experts, and he was happy to become a Disney shareholder when he sold Lucasfilm over a decade ago due to his longstanding admiration for the brand and Bob Iger's leadership. He also mentioned that he was relieved when Bob returned during a tough period, emphasizing that no one knows Disney better.
As a significant Disney shareholder from his 2012 cash-and-stock deal, Lucas expressed his full support for Iger and the company's twelve chosen directors.
Lucas, who remains a substantial shareholder, stated that he has complete faith in Disney's strength and Bob's history of creating lasting value, urging other shareholders to vote for Disney's 12 directors.
