While most of the affection from Winnipeg hockey fans is focused on Jets all-star starting goalie Connor Hellebuyck, the person behind the mask on the Jets’ farm team is also making his presence felt.
On Monday, the Manitoba Moose revealed that 20-year-old goalie Thomas Milic was chosen as the American Hockey League’s player of the week for the week ending Sunday.

During that week, Milic was the goalie for every Moose game, conceding only four goals on 85 shots, securing victories in all three games, and achieving a .953 save percentage with a 1.30 goals-against average.
One of these games included the first shutout of Milic’s professional career in a 6-0 win against Milwaukee.
Chosen by the Jets in the fifth round of the 2023 NHL draft, Milic has a flawless 6-0-0 record in goal during March — a noteworthy accomplishment given his age. He is the third-youngest goalkeeper in the AHL.
Currently positioned fifth in the league’s Central Division with a 26-29-1 record, the Moose will next play against Grand Rapids on Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m. as part of the Project 11 School Day Game program.
