Nollywood actor, Kingsley Orji, has asked for financial help for famous Nollywood actor, Amaechi Muonagor, to have kidney transplant in India.
Orji, also a Nollywood actor, on his Instagram on Sunday, shared that Muonagor had left the hospital recently due to money problems.
He explained how much the illnesses had affected Muonagor, impacting his speech and overall health.
Orji urged fans and well-wishers to donate towards the cost of the necessary transplant surgery.
Orji, speaking in Igbo and English, said “It has been very challenging. He has been in this condition for months now. He needs a kidney transplant. What we need is for you to assist us to help him travel to India.
“He just came back from the ICU in Nnewi Teaching Hospital a few days ago. He was responding to treatment but not very well.
“We decided to bring him home because there was no money but it is not advisable. He can barely speak well. Please, he needs your help.”
The exact amount needed for the transplant surgery was not revealed, but Orji provided Amaechi’s bank details and contact information for those willing to contribute.
In November 2023, Tony Muonagor, Amaechi’s cousin, disclosed that the actor was battling a trifecta of health issues: kidney disease, diabetes, and stroke.
His condition had worsened, requiring regular dialysis sessions and physiotherapy at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital in Nnewi, Anambra.
