A man has passed away following a single-vehicle fatal crash in Edmonton on Friday evening.
Authorities stated that at about 10:44 p.m., police officers arrived at a single-vehicle crash in the Parsons Road and 28th Avenue area. The Edmonton Police Service explained that a 2012 Toyota Tundra truck was moving south on Parsons Road in the lanes for northbound traffic. The driver then veered to avoid a head-on crash with another vehicle and hit a wooden power pole, then a metal power pole on the east side of the road.
A 54-year-old driver was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police reported that he passed away in hospital on Saturday. No other injuries were noted.
EPS is looking into the incident and indicated that speed is thought to be a factor.
