The police in Lagos have taken into custody a man named Adepoju Ifedayo for reportedly raping his 13-year-old sister.
This information was revealed in a statement posted by the state's Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, on his X profile on Saturday.
Accompanied by a photo of the suspect, Hundeyin stated, “Adepoju Ifedayo informed the police that his neighbor sexually assaulted his 13-year-old sister.
The state police spokesperson announced the discovery of two locally crafted guns and three live bullets.
“The investigation indicated that he was indeed responsible but was attempting to divert attention.
“After the victim mentioned seeing a weapon in his room, a search was carried out, resulting in the recovery of two locally made guns and three live bullets – also implicating him in unlawful possession of firearms. The investigation is ongoing.”
