Some unknown criminals invaded the Anambra State Vigilante office in Amichi, Nnewi South Local Government Area, on Thursday.
A large group of criminals attacked the premises around 7am on Thursday, setting a middle-aged man on fire inside a vehicle that belonged to the AVG operatives.
The details of the incident were unclear and the reason for the attack was not fully understood at the time of the report.
A circulating video on social media supported this, showing the vehicle burning and a voice calling for the state fire service.
The state police spokesman, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the attack but stated that full details were not yet available.
Ikenga said, 'Yes, the attack took place, but we don't have all the details yet; our personnel are at the scene to restore order. I will call you back, please.'
