A 37-year-old man has passed away following an LRT accident in Edmonton the early morning on Wednesday.
Edmonton police reported that at approximately 12:42 a.m., officers went to the scene of a collision between a pedestrian and the LRT. Authorities stated that a man got hit by the southbound Capital Lane LRT while running across 111th Street at 43rd Avenue in the westbound direction.
The news release indicated that the crossing arms were lowered and the lights were on at that time.
EMS paramedics arrived at the location, but the man succumbed to his injuries on the spot. The Edmonton Police Service Major Collision Investigations Section is examining the incident.
