Penn State Wilkes-Barre is set to compete in the men’s USCAA D2 Basketball Small College National Championship on Wednesday in Richmond, Va.
The Mountain Lions (20-8) secured a 73-54 victory over Penn State York in the national semifinals on Tuesday. They are scheduled to compete against Cincinnati-Clermont at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Jedidiah Ashton came off the bench and led Penn State Wilkes-Barre past York with 24 points, contributing to the Mountain Lions' breakaway in the second half from a 5-point game.
Anton Berga scored 18 points for Wilkes-Barre, and Jale Willis added 16. Teequan Hardy grabbed 14 rebounds for Wilkes-Barre.
York (28-7) was led by Marquise McClean with 13 points and Quentin Wells with 12.
