As the first round of the PIAA state basketball playoffs ended on Saturday, a few teams from the Wyoming Valley Conference found out where they would be playing in the next round.
The PIAA released the sites and times for Tuesday’s games on Saturday afternoon, and five out of the six WVC teams that advanced to the second round now know where they will be going next.
The Dallas girls team won their first-round game over Villa Maria Academy on Saturday afternoon, so their second-round location and time have not been announced yet, but they will be playing on Wednesday night.
The schedule for Tuesday is as follows:
• In the Class A boys category, MMI Prep will play against District 3 third seed High Point Baptist at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Minersville High School.
• In the Class 3A girls category, Holy Redeemer will play against District 3 third seed York Catholic at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at Minersville High School.
• In the Class 3A girls category, Lake-Lehman will play against District 4 second seed Loyalsock Township at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Berwick High School.
• In the Class 5A boys category, Dallas will play against District 1 champion Unionville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Bethlehem Liberty High School.
• In the Class 6A girls category, Hazleton Area will play against District 12 second seed Cardinal O’Hara at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at Bethlehem Liberty High School.
