The Kebbi State Government has ended the position of the District Head of Sauwa, Muhammad-Sauwa and put a stop to the work of the District Head of Guluma, Muhammad Bashir-Guluma for six months.
This information is in a statement signed by the Chairman, Local Government Service Commission, Mansir Shehu and given to reporters in Birnin Kebbi, the capital of the state, on Saturday.
He said that the ending and stop of the two district heads' positions were according to the Public Services Rule 030301(0) which is about serious bad behavior.
He said, “The ending and stop of the two district heads of Sauwa and Guluma in Arugungu Local Government is because of a committee’s report made to look into them.
“After the committee’s looking into it, they were found to be at fault. However, the ending and stop began on 29th February 2024.”
Shehu explained that on January 31, 2024, a group was started to look into the claims presented by the Arugungu LG council.
This led to the forming of the group which started work right away, and their report shows that the two affected district heads were found at fault.
He said that the district head of Sauwa was known for consistently not following orders, while that of Guluma was only mildly not following orders and his pay will be stopped for six months.
“For the District Head of Guluma, Alhaji Muhammad Bashar-Guluma, the commission thought over and accepted a smaller punishment of six months off work and no pay for six months for not following orders as the committee found him guilty,
