A 24-year-old man from Brampton, Ont., has been charged with 168 criminal offenses involving fake documents and selling stolen goods related to a major vehicle crime, as stated by the police.
Police reported on Friday that Milton Hylton, who allegedly runs an unlicensed car dealership and brokerage, was arrested.
Investigation revealed that the 24-year-old exploited ServiceOntario procedures that enable authorized individuals to carry out third-party transactions for motor vehicles.
According to Peel Regional Police, the suspect registered several stolen vehicles that had been re-VINed as part of the scam.
The statement from the police reveals that
some of the vehicles used have been found to be stolen, while many others are still in use.
Police anticipate making more arrests and suspect the involvement of the accused's family members and others.
