Bo Bichette doubled with a teammate on base, followed by a triple from Lukes, scoring Alan Roden and Josh Kasevich, who was pinch-running for Bichette.
Bassitt pitched for 4 1/3 innings, striking out four batters and allowing four of New York's five hits, including an RBI double by DJ LeMahieu in the third inning.
Yimi Garcia helped secure the win for Toronto (5-8) by striking out two batters in the sixth inning. Mason Fluharty sealed the victory by striking out the side in the ninth for the save.
Former Blue Jay Marcus Stroman pitched four no-hit innings for the Yankees (5-8), striking out two batters.
Yerry De Los Santos took the loss for the Yankees.
Toronto will face Philadelphia on Saturday in Clearwater, Fla.
