Francis Ngannou has said sorry to his fans after losing to Anthony Joshua in Saudi Arabia on Friday night.
The fighter from Cameroon was defeated by knockout by the former world heavyweight champion in the second round.
Even though he had a good first boxing match against Tyson Fury last year, the mixed martial artist didn't do well against his more experienced Nigerian-British opponent.
The 37-year-old’s loss by knockout in the second round followed a knockdown by Joshua in the first round, from which Ngannou struggled to recover.
A strong right punch from Joshua caused the referee to stop the fight in the second round.
“I'm sorry to everyone; I feel like I disappointed you,” Ngannou wrote on his X account.
“Today was a tough day at work but tomorrow is a new day. Thank you all for the love,” he added.
