Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou were the main fighters at the Knockout Chaos event on Friday evening.
Former two-time heavyweight champion, Joshua, fought the Cameroonian, who had previously knocked down Fury last October.
The event featured an impressive knockout, a title victory, and a challenging draw.
Joshua vs Ngannou
Joshua came out aggressively, and despite Ngannou’s courageous efforts, he struggled to make contact with the former heavyweight champion.
In the bout, Joshua knocked Ngannou down three times, with the initial knockdown occurring 40 seconds before the end of round one, when the British-Nigerian landed a solid right punch to the Cameroonian’s chin.
Ngannou allowed the referee to count to eight before rising.
The same scenario occurred during the second knockdown in round two, as he stood up after eight seconds.
However, the third knockdown caused him to stay down, requiring oxygen and medical attention long after the bell signaling the end of the fight, resulting in a victory for Joshua.
Parker defeats Zhang by majority decision
This was an exceptional outcome for Joseph Parker, as he was knocked down twice during the fight but still secured the win.
Parker secured the WBO interim heavyweight title and was joined in the ring by his support team, including WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury.
The Kiwi has now achieved five consecutive wins, including a victory over Deontay Wilder in the previous match, bringing his overall record to 35 wins and three defeats.
When questioned about his next steps, Parker mentioned, “a rematch with Zhang. We’ve got a contract.”
Vargas vs. Ball ends in split decision draw
Nick Ball may have believed he had done enough to secure the win from round seven onwards.
It was a slow start, but he managed to claim two knockdowns in the latter part of the fight. Ball aimed to become the first Briton to hold the WBC featherweight title since Prince Naseem Hamed in 1999.
However, Vargas also put on a strong performance, and the match concluded in a draw, with a rematch anticipated to take place soon.
