Anthony Joshua won his fourth consecutive fight by obtaining a second-round knockout victory over Cameroonian boxer Francis Ngannou at the main event of the “Knockout Chaos” card in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
After winning against Jermaine Franklin in April and Robert Helenius in August, Joshua secured a fifth-round technical knockout win over Otto Wallin in December, who was expected to be a tough opponent due to his southpaw stance.
Joshua has now achieved knockout victories over two fighters who went the distance with Tyson Fury, namely Wallin and Ngannou.
Ngannou surprised fans when he knocked Fury down in their previous bout, leading many to believe he could also surprise Joshua.
However, Joshua proved the doubters wrong by outmaneuvering Ngannou for two rounds and delivering a knockout, just as he had promised.
After being knocked out, the Cameroonian-born boxer required medical attention in the ring corner and received oxygen before standing back up.
During the post-match conference, Joshua expressed his readiness to challenge the winner of Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk for a shot at the world heavyweight titles.
