Brentford Midfielder Frank Onyeka emphasized the strong mindset of Napoli star Victor Osimhen and discussed the possibility of him joining the Premier League this summer.
The 25-year-old Nigerian forward is widely anticipated to depart from the Partenopei in a significant transfer this summer, after signing a new contract with Serie A champions last year, which includes a release clause of €120-130m.
Despite Napoli's turmoil this season, Osimhen has continued to perform well, scoring 11 goals and providing three assists in 16 league matches. He has caught the attention of several Premier League clubs such as Chelsea, Manchester United, and Arsenal.
In an interview with Sky Sports UK, Onyeka was asked about playing with Osimhen in the Nigeria squad at the Africa Cup of Nations and the possibility of joining him at Brentford.
“No, no, no! He's too expensive! He's a really good guy but he’s someone who wants to win. He doesn’t like to lose, even in training. He always wants to push players around him and motivate them. He's a fighter.
“He's always there to support the team, fight for the team. Even when the team is struggling, he'll be the first to motivate the team. He never gives up. In my opinion, he was one of the standout players in the tournament, but people don't really recognize what he does.
“Hopefully, he joins the Premier League.”
