President, Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and overseas, Pastor (Dr) Henry Ojo has encouraged Nigerians to be patient with the Federal Government, saying that what they are experiencing now is not uncommon in the history of Nigeria and the history of the world.
The cleric remembered that Nigerians experienced even worse times in 1984 during the military rule of Muhammadu Buhari, but survived it.
He said, “Because God made it possible for us to survive that time, we will survive this period as well.
“We need to be patient with this government. What we are facing is not uncommon in the history of Nigeria and in the history of the world. We faced difficult times more than these times in 1984 during the rule of Muhammadu Buhari when he was in the military government. We need not to forget that, but we survived it. Since God made it possible for us to survive that time, we will survive this period as well.”
Dr Henry Ojo talked to journalists after the official inauguration of the new General Evangelist of the Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and overseas, Prophet Adebayo Kolawole, which was held on Saturday, March 2, at the CAC, Oniyanrin, Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
Prophet Kolawole obtained his BA and MA degrees in General Bible Knowledge from the United Christian International Bible Institute, USA, Lagos Campus.
He was ordained as a pastor in C.A.C in 1996 and established his first Church (Assembly), Christ Apostolic Church, Arogungbogunmi, at Olomi-Olunde, Ibadan, Oyo State.
Talking about leadership at the event, the CAC president said, “The position of leadership is not an easy task. It carries a lot of rewards and danger. Why did I say so? There’s no leader that is being celebrated in his lifetime. In fact, most leaders are celebrated after their death. And that’s why politically or religiously, no leader is being celebrated in their lifetime. They are criticized.”
Dr Henry Ojo said “In Nigeria, for example, we celebrate all past Nigerian leaders, but criticized the current leadership. That’s the irony of life, but there’s no need to be discouraged. Leaders will face challenges and different forms of opposition because the position of leadership attracts envy.
“People will be envious and jealous of what God is helping you to do. But look unto God alone and not what men say and be sincere. Because whatever you do today, will speak tomorrow, and even when men do not talk about it now, they will talk about it tomorrow, and praise the name of the Lord on your behalf.”
Addressing reporters shortly after his inauguration, Prophet Kolawole said, “God has put me in charge of everything evangelism in Christ Apostolic Church, and to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ across the globe. That’s the new assignment God has assigned me to do and the job will be well done in Jesus Name.
The prophet revealed, “I have received a mandate to pray for the nation, and to reveal all secrets to the whole Nigerians about what God wants to do in this nation.”
Kolawole noted, “In December 2023 when reporters (including the PUNCH) came to CAC Arogungbogunmi, I told them clearly that the first three months of this year 2024 will be difficult months. But I said that by the fourth month, God will intervene, and things will become easier for this nation.”
Speaking more at the event, the head of CAC stated, “When we look at what's happening globally, we see that the issues we are dealing with are not only happening in Nigeria. If you visit the UK or USA, you'll find that things are more costly. Many of us don't understand the current state of the world.
There is an ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, and it's important to note that these nations are among the top food producers worldwide. As long as the war continues in these two countries, it will definitely impact other nations.
“In Nigeria, we are dealing with the problem of kidnappings and terrorism, and farmers are being forced out of their lands. So, we are seeing the outcome of these issues now. What everyone should do is to have patience with the government and pray for them, so that God will grant the government the strength to overcome all the challenges.
Religious leaders and many CAC members attended the event.
