The Nigeria Football Federation introduced ex-Ajax player Finidi George as the Super Eagles' new coach on Monday.
Finidi was selected two weeks ago, but the NFF did not share the details of his contract at the time.
However, he finalized his contract during the event where NFF President, Ibrahim Gusau, and Sports Minister John Enoh presented him as the new Eagles boss.
NFF also announced that Finidi's assistant coaches would be his former Super Eagles teammate Daniel Amokachi and former Shooting Stars player Benjamin James, who is based in Germany.
He will also be supported by Mehmet Ozturk as an analyst, and the Netherlands-based fitness trainer Chima Onyeike, who has experience in Russia, Germany, and Greece, will also aid Finidi.
Meanwhile, Olatunji Baruwa will continue as the goalkeeper trainer.
There are suggestions that Finidi was given a one-year contract to lead the Super Eagles in their next campaign.
This information was shared by football analyst and journalist Osasu Obayiuawana, who questioned the duration of Finidi's contract.
On Monday, he posted on his X handle, “Wait a minute… @FinidiGeorge_FG was only given a ONE YEAR CONTRACT by @thenff to manage the @NGSuperEagles? Is this a joke or what?”
The new Super Eagles coach is expected to continue with the preparations for the vital 2026 World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin later in June.
