Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola has signed a new contract, extending his time at the Premier League club until at least the conclusion of the 2025/26 season.
The Spaniard, 41, signed a two-year agreement when he joined the south coast club in June last year from Rayo Vallecano.
Bournemouth, who have achieved their highest-ever Premier League points total this season, are 11th in the English top division with one game remaining.
“I’m very content to sign the contract. For me, it is about renewing the confidence from both sides,” Iraola said on Monday.
“We have had a positive experience with our first season together in the Premier League, and I am glad that both sides want to continue the relationship further.
“I'm proud that we reached the points record. We are playing in a challenging competition, with very good opposition. The season started slowly, but I believe we improved significantly and are playing in the right manner.
Bournemouth owner and chairman Bill Foley said, “Andoni has made a huge impact since arriving at the club and we are thrilled to agree to this extension.
“We have achieved a club-record points total in the Premier League thanks to a series of outstanding performances and results from the team.”
PUNCH Online reports that AFC Bournemouth sit at the 11th position in the 20-team table with 48 points.
The team will travel to Stamford Bridge to play Chelsea in the last game of the season on May 19.
