Wide receiver Kaden Davis played with the Michigan Panthers in the USFL in 2023. Now, he's going back to Michigan to continue playing football.
According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the Detroit Lions signed Davis to a contract after he participated in their rookie minicamp.
Garafolo wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that “Former Arizona Cardinals WR Kaden Davis is signing with the Lions after attending rookie camp on a tryout basis, per his agent.” Garafolo also included that “Davis, who had eight catches and a TD last preseason, was on Arizona’s practice squad last season and was active for one game as well.”The Arizona Cardinals
The promoted Davis from the practice squad for their Week 16 game, but he didn’t get to play. Arizona signed
Davis to a reserve/future contract after the season. Then, they released him on April 30. Before he caught eight passes in the preseason,
Davis had 83 receiving yards and 333 return yards with 2 touchdowns in five games in the USFL last year. Pride of Detroit’s Jeremy Reisman from SB Nation complimented Davis’ versatility, saying that he could play on the outside and in the slot for the Lions.
Reisman wrote that “Davis is a solid athlete, earning a 8.34 RAS score with a solid 4.44 40-yard dash and an impressive 1.52 10-yard split.”

This led to Davis seeking an opportunity in the USFL. Davis played Division II football at Northwest Missouri State, but he did very well against the level of competition. In his final season in 2021, He caught
714 yards and 10 touchdowns. He averaged 16.2 yards per catch and made honorable mention in his conference.
