The members of the Rivers State House of Assembly who support Governor Siminalayi Fubara and are led by a factional Speaker, Victor Oko-Jumbo, have asked Danagogo Iboroma, a Commissioner-candidate, to attend a session for evaluation and approval as a member of the state executive.
Iboroma might be selected to take the place of Zaccaeus Adangor, who recently stepped down as the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice.
Adangor resigned after refusing to be reassigned to the State Ministry of Special Duties (Governor’s Office) by Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
The invitation for the nominee was sent in a letter signed by the factional Clerk, Dr. G.M. Gillis-West, who requested Iboroma's presence at the House on Monday at 10 am and forwarded it to journalists.
The factional clerk instructed Iboroma to appear at the Hallowed Chamber, Rivers State House of Assembly, Auditorium, Admin Block, Rivers State Government House, Port Harcourt.
The letter stated, “The Rivers State House of Assembly hereby invites the following Commissioner-candidate for evaluation and approval as a member of the Rivers State Executive Council. Danagogo I Iboroma, SAN.
“Date: Monday, 13th May 2024. Time 10 am. Venue: Hallowed Chamber, Rivers State House of Assembly Auditorium, Admin Block, Government House, Port Harcourt.
“The nominee is to come with 10 sets of his Curriculum Vitae, photocopies of his credentials and the original.”
