Idowu Philips, popularly known as Iya Rainbow, and Richard Mofe Damifo, also known as RMD, have received the Industry Merit Awards at a notable event at the Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos on Saturday.
When accepting the award, Iya Rainbow expressed gratitude, saying, “I am grateful to be alive to receive this award. I dedicate this award to God, my creator, my husband, my children, and all my fans.”
RMD also mentioned, “I did not expect this at all. This is for every actor. I am honored to receive this award while I am still alive. This is dedicated to all the actors and producers I have had the pleasure of working with. Thank you.”
The AMVCA Industry Merit Award is a recognition given by MultiChoice via Africa Magic for lifetime contribution to the development of African cinema.
