Holy Redeemer won against Mountain View in a match between two top Class 2A boys' volleyball teams in District 2, winning all sets on Friday night with scores of 25-14, 25-13, and 25-14.
Joshua Rocha achieved 18 kills, and Johnnathan Rocha contributed 14 kills for Holy Redeemer.
Hazleton Area secures 3-0 victory over Lackawanna Trail
The Cougars ended their regular season by defeating Lackawanna Trail with set scores of 25-15, 25-10, and 25-21, all in favor of Hazleton Area.
Ronny Rodriguez provided 32 assists and seven service points for Hazleton Area.

New assistant added to coaching staff for Wilkes men’s basketball team
On Friday, the Colonels announced that Willie Hope will be joining the men’s basketball staff as an assistant and will also serve as the school’s director of intramurals.
“We are enthusiastic about welcoming Willie to Wilkes,” stated Wilkes coach Izzi Metz. “He brings valuable experience from working with two excellent programs in the region, and I am looking forward to his contributions to our players and our program's development.
Hope previously served as an assistant at Lebanon Valley College last season and was a grad assistant at Messiah College for two years before that. He was also a team captain at Messiah from 2014-18.
