The pals Ted and John Bennett from Seth MacFarlane and Peacock’s show will have more exciting escapades in the upcoming Season 2. “Ted.”
The show, based on the R-rated film series, features MacFarlane as the voice of the mischievous teddy bear, along with Max Burkholder, Alanna Ubach, Scott Grimes, and Giorgia Whigham.
The first season of “Ted” premiered on Jan. 11 and became the top original comedy series on Peacock in the U.S. for over two months, based on Nielsen ratings.
The show also saw success in other countries, including the U.K., Australia, and Canada, as well as on streaming platforms like Binge and StackTV.
When asked about a potential second season, MacFarlane hinted that it depended on the audience's interest.
The showrunners, Paul Corrigan and Brad Walsh, mentioned they were already discussing future seasons.
Walsh expressed enthusiasm for exploring more stories, highlighting the teenage character's experiences and relationships with his family.
However, Walsh acknowledged that completing the first season was a lengthy and challenging process that relied heavily on MacFarlane's involvement.
According to Walsh, producing the show was a labor of love and quite demanding for MacFarlane due to his hands-on approach.
The seven-episode prequel depicts Ted and 16-year-old John living in 1993 with John's parents and cousin, as they navigate high school and new experiences.
In addition to MacFarlane, the show is produced by Fuzzy Door Productions’ Erica Huggins, Alana Kleiman, Jason Clark, and Aimee Carlson.
Fuzzy Door, MRC, and UCP are the production companies behind the series.
