The governor of Kebbi State, Nasir Idris, has given his approval for the designation of a former governor, Saidu Dakingari, as the leader of the state's delegation for the Hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia in 2024.
This information was provided in a statement released by Alhaji Faruku Aliyu-Enabo, the Executive Chairman of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Board, to the press in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday.
The chairman also mentioned that Alhaji Malami Shekare-Muhammad, the Permanent Secretary in the State Cabinet Office, will act as the secretary of the delegation.
He noted that Justice Umar Abubakar will be the Deputy Amirul Hajj for the exercise.
Aliyu-Enabo listed the members of the delegation, including; Abubakar Mohammed-Kana, Alhaji Usman Baraya, Muhammad Bello-Yakubu, Abubakar Aminu-Gulumbe, and Abubakar Sulaiman-Fana.
Others on the list are Garba Abubakar Talba, Mohammad Musa-Tungulawa, Justice Suleiman Ambursa (rtd), Muhammad Fanna-Zaruma, Aishatu Abubakar-Gunabi, and Rufa’i Aliyu-Yauri.
Aliyu-Enabo mentioned that the responsibilities of the delegation include overseeing the entire Hajj activities and providing recommendations for enhancing future operations.
“To guarantee adherence to all agreements made between the state Pilgrims Welfare Board (PWB), the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), and the airline operators.
“To offer guidance to the Pilgrims Welfare Board on all matters that will ensure a smooth operation,” the secretary stated.
