President Bola Tinubu sent a high-level government group to Yola, Adamawa State on Tuesday to offer condolences to the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, following the death of his brother, Salihu Ahmadu Ribadu.
The group, led by the President's Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, went to the Ribadu family home in Yola on Tuesday to express the President’s condolences for the “painful and irreparable” loss.
Speaking for the President, Gbajabiamila stated, “Mr President has asked us to go to Yola and offer condolences to a valued member of his team, the National Security Adviser, and also to the rest of the family for the sad loss they have suffered.”
Recognizing the challenge of losing a close family member, Gbajabiamila stressed the importance of support during such times.
“Losing a close family member like this is very painful, and it is important for friends and family to come together and sympathize with the grieving family,” he said.
The group included Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Senator Ibrahim Hadejia; Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris; Minister of Education, Professor Tahir Mamman; Minister of Arts and Creative Economy, Barrister Hannatu Musawa; Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Tunji Alausa; and Special Adviser to the President on General Duties (Office of the Vice President), Dr. Aliyu Modibbo Umar.
In a statement released on Tuesday by the President's Special Adviser on Media & Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the President expressed his sorrow over the loss and described it as “painful and irreparable.”
