A lawsuit alleging sexual assault against Kevin Spacey is continuing after his lawyers appeared in London on Monday to ensure the case, which was awaiting the result of his previous criminal trial, didn't end in default judgment.
Spacey's criminal trial ended in acquittal last summer. Four men had accused the actor in separate charges in London, where Spacey has a home, but a jury cleared him on all eight counts.
It was unclear if one of the alleged victims was the plaintiff in the civil lawsuit, filed by an anonymous man, who claims the assault occurred in 2008.

A group of British citizens heard testimony last year on eight counts of sexual and indecent assault from 2001 to 2013 brought by four men. They claimed Spacey made unwanted advances, which could have led to life imprisonment for the “Usual Suspects” actor. All four accusers testified, as well as Elton John for the defense, and other witnesses.
Spacey has residences in both London and New York, where last year he was found not liable in a civil lawsuit brought by actor Anthony Rapp from the movie “Rent.
