There's a saying that a team can never have too many players who can attack the quarterback, and that might be true for the Philadelphia Eagles in their pursuit of a second appearance in the Super Bowl in three seasons. Philadelphia Eagles in the franchise's attempt to reach a second Super Bowl final in three seasons.
Even with Brandon Graham coming back for the opportunity to pursue another championship ring, Jalen Carter looking to build on a six-sack rookie season, general manager Howie Roseman and the Eagles may seek to improve the quality of experienced players at the position.
Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox has compiled a list of veteran players who can strengthen contenders this season and makes a persuasive argument for the Eagles to sign former Miami Dolphins defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah.
“Ogbah continues to be an effective rotational player for sacking the quarterback,” Knox states for Bleacher Report. “He ended last season with 5.5 sacks and 15 quarterback pressures while only playing 25 percent of the defensive snaps for the Miami Dolphins.
“Notably, Ogbah's 2023 performance was under the Eagles' new defensive coordinator. He's already familiar with Fangio's tactics, which means he could assist Philadelphia in both the upcoming preparation process and the regular season.”
Ogbeh won a Super Bowl ring with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2019, so his presence in a young defensive line group could be very valuable for the Eagles.
During his first eight seasons, Ogbah has amassed 42.5 sacks, 268 total tackles, 41 tackles for loss, eight forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, and 108 hits on the quarterback.
