Since Dana Air stopped flying, passengers have been getting more and more annoyed about the airline taking too long to give back money for canceled tickets.
The airline stopped flying after a runway incident, and this made a lot of customers upset because they couldn't use their tickets.
On April 25, The PUNCH reported that following the runway incident, Dana Air said it would give refunds for canceled flights. After the runway incident, Dana Air said they were working on giving back money for canceled flights.
The airline management asked customers to be patient and give their booking details and bank account numbers so they could get their refunds faster.
But many customers went on social media to say they were not happy about how slow the refunds were and that the airline wasn't communicating well.
A customer named Israel Adebode said, “I bought a ticket just before the airline stopped flying. My flight was supposed to be last week Monday. The website was still working for three days after the suspension, then it stopped. I need my money back.”
Other customers said the airline blocked them on social media when they asked for refunds. One person with the username @Ajewole Theophilus said, “Dana Air blocked me and others on Twitter for asking for our money back. We can't reach them now.”
A lot of customers criticized Dana Air's behavior on social media, saying the airline deactivated its account when people asked for refunds.
A person with the username @Papi_Xchulo wrote, “Do you know Dana Air deactivated their @DanaAir account on X? People asked for refunds, including me, and they didn't respond. Then they deactivated their account. How can we get our money back, please?”
Another person who talked to The PUNCH, George Aremu, said something similar happened to his wife.
“My wife and her colleagues booked a flight with Dana from Lagos to Abuja and back, but the trip got canceled. They asked for a refund, and Dana said they would only pay for one ticket.”
The slow refunds have caused problems for travelers and made customers unhappy. A person who complained with the username @SaibrousFarms also said, “We still haven't gotten our money back because of the last time DanaAir stopped flying, and it caused problems for our plans.”
In an interview, the person added, “I just want my money back.”
A frustrated person with the X username @iam__leonpatriq also said on X, “It's been weeks since Dana Air stopped flying, and they haven't tried to give us refunds. We send emails every day, but no one listens! Is this how they're going to keep our money?”
