Tunde Owoyele, the Archdeacon of Agege and Vicar of Christ Church Anglican, Elere – Agege, has urged other groups in the church to follow the lead of Christ Morning Society Lagos Chapter in assisting the less fortunate members of their groups.
Owoyele urged other groups in the church to do the same while giving checks to some children of the society’s members to support their education.
This information was shared in a statement on Tuesday by the State Public Relations Officer, Christ Morning Star, Tunji Oguntuase.
The statement quoted Owoyele as saying, “I’m happy to give these checks as educational aid from the society. I strongly urge other groups in the church to follow this gesture to the children of members.”
According to Owoyele, the educational aid will significantly help students facing difficulties in achieving their goals.
“It is truly a noble cause that everyone should follow,” Owoyele said.
In his comments, the President, CMS, Lagos Chapter, Segun Sobowale, said the initial stage of educational aid for some children of the society is one of the commendable projects within the society, and assured that the scheme will be carried out in stages.
Some of the students supported by the scheme include Munirudeen Ishola of St. John’s Anglican Church, Satellite Town; and David Chilem of Christ the King Church, Pedro, Lagos.
According to Sobowale, the next stage will involve many churches in the coming months.
