JENKINS TWP. — Law enforcement in Jenkins Township took Jillian Clapps into custody over claims that she stabbed a man in the back early on Monday, as per legal documents.
Police went to a mobile home in Quiet Cove Trailer Park for a domestic disturbance just after 6 a.m.
When an officer arrived at the scene, a woman known as Clapps was seen running from the residence.
After Clapps was held and put in a police car, Brian Higdon came out of the residence alleging that she stabbed him in the back, according to court records.
Authorities said Higdon was drenched in blood and holding a towel on the left side of his back.
Clapps asserted that Higdon stabbed himself, according to court records.
Higdon informed police, as per court records, that he was sitting on a chair getting dressed when Clapps grabbed a paring knife and stabbed him.
Certified documents state that Higdon sustained a stab wound to the middle left side of his back. Higdon was taken to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township.
Clapps was arraigned by District Judge Brian Tupper of Kingston Township on two charges of reckless endangerment and one charge of aggravated assault. She was placed in Luzerne County Correctional Facility as she couldn't pay the $100,000 bail.
