Dallas beat Tunkhannock 3-2 on Monday in Wyoming Valley Conference boys volleyball, with Junior Carter Brunn breaking the school record for kills in a single game with 32.
Dallas won the first set 25-16, Tunkhannock won the next two with scores of 25-21 and 25-20, and then Dallas closed the match with victories of 26-24 and 15-12.
In addition to his 32 kills, Brunn also made 19 digs, nine blocks, two aces, and four service points. Cameron Faux had 22 kills, 26 digs, three assists, three blocks, two aces, and five service points. Christopher Miller provided 19 assists and five digs.
For Tunkhannock, Marcus Binner contributed 20 assists, 13 kills, and eight service points, while Zachary MacBain had 16 kills and Tyler Shygelski added 10.
Also for Tunkhannock, Logan Zdaniewicz had 20 assists and Luke Hutchins had 14 service points.
Mountain View defeated Lake-Lehman 25-6, 25-7, 25-16.
Mountain View won against Lake-Lehman with scorelines of 25-6, 25-7, 25-16.
Isaac Drake (12 kills), Ryan Supancik (17 assists, 7 aces), and Joey Heller (6 aces) were the key players in the victory.
Hazleton Area secured a 3-1 win against Berwick with scores of 25-19, 25-21, 12-25, 25-19.
Shawn Hill (30 assists, 1 attack, 2 block, 11 digs, 14 service points) and Kendrick Ortiz (7 kills, 5 blocks, 11 digs, 3 service points) led Hazleton Area.
For Berwick, Josh Kishbaugh had 15 digs, Ethan Lear had 10 service points, Jayden Rivera had eight kills and two blocks, and Chris Reyes had six kills.
Holy Redeemer triumphed over Blue Ridge 25-12, 17-25, 14-25, 25-23, 15-6.
The top players for Redeemer were Joshua Rocha (22 kills, 4 blocks, 2 assists, 9 digs, 7 points), George Sabatini (15 kills, 2 blocks), Jack Wasiakowski (44 assists, 4 kills, 4 digs, 10 points), and Mike Dubaskas (8 kills, 3 blocks). Blue Ridge’s Connor Cranage had 23 kills.
North Pocono won 6-3 against Bellefonte, with Riley Moore scoring two goals and providing three assists.
Brady Mapes also had two goals and an assist, while Tate Brown and Gavin Phillips each scored a goal. Stephen Cardamone made six saves.
Seton Catholic Central beat Scranton Prep 13-12 in overtime.
Will McPartland had three goals and an assist for Scranton Prep, Finn Kane scored three times, Liam Barrett had two goals and three assists, and Quinn Lynett added a goal and two assists.
Southern Lehigh defeated Crestwood 20-9 in a non-conference match, with Jackie Gallagher scoring five goals for Crestwood, and Gia Caporuscio scoring two goals.
