The Adamawa State Government has declared that 42 individuals have passed away as a result of a measles outbreak in Mubi and Gombi Local Government Areas of the state.
The state Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Felix Tangwame, stated that the outbreak affected eight wards in Mubi and seven wards in Gombi, with 42 deaths out of 131 and 177 affected individuals, respectively, after the State Executive Council meeting held at the Government House, Yola
He assured everyone that measures have been implemented to prevent further spread, and the government and its partners are working to manage the situation.
“Measles vaccines have been distributed to those areas, and our field teams are controlling the situation,” the commissioner said
