The Federal Capital Territory Police Command announced on Friday that they are investigating the death of an unidentified woman whose body was discovered after Mpape junction in Abuja.
The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, informed our correspondent that the Mabushi Division of the Force had brought the body to a hospital and that they are currently working on identifying the woman.
“The body was taken to the hospital by the Mabushi Division yesterday. We have not been able to identify her yet. We are still conducting investigations,” she explained.
An X user, #Arike_Jane, shared pictures of the unidentified woman on Thursday, stating that no form of identification was found on the body to contact her family and relatives.
“This young girl was found dead this morning, after Mpape junction, around the Abuja top bridge that connects Berger and AYA.
“They couldn’t find any useful information about her or any ID to contact her family and relatives. Anyone with useful information about her or her,” she wrote.
In response to the tweets, some users suggested the possibility that she may have been a victim of 'one-chance' crime, pointing out the absence of any form of identification.
David Offor, an X user, expressed sorrow over the woman's death, saying, “It is really sad, everyone should be cautious when moving around at night in Abuja. If you need to go out at night, use a registered cab, take a ride, or book a ride from any of the online transportation services; 'one-chance' crimes are still a reality. May she rest in peace”.
Another user, KOA, tweeting as #KleshofAfrica, suggested that the woman might have been assaulted.
The X user said, “Because there's no form of identification on her, it's highly likely that she was assaulted and possibly robbed. If there are any signs of injury on her body, it confirms that she was likely robbed and killed in the process. May her soul rest in peace and may God forgive all her wrongdoing.”
