International telecommunications company NTT Data is increasing its presence in North Texas by building a large new data center.
A filing According to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the new location will be situated on the south side of Lookout Drive, just east of Telecom Parkway. Construction on the $42 million project is set to begin in September, with an expected completion date of April 2026.
The new NTT facility will span nearly 236,000 square feet and will be located within the company’s existing Garland campus. Corgan Associates from Houston is the listed design firm on the filing.
Last month, The Dallas Express reported on Corgan’s another project, an 841,000-square-foot climate-controlled warehouse and office space in Fort Worth that is planned to be finished by 2027. The firm has also been unveiled as the designer behind at least two other data centers in Dallas-Fort Worth in recent months, both owned by QTS Realty Trust.
Collectively, Corgan has contributed to over 30 data centers.
The announcement of the newest project follows the increase in the number of data centers in North Texas, including two from QTS Realty.
Dallas-headquartered Compass Datacenters is adding adding two more data centers to its Red Oak campus, each over 250,000 square feet in size.
An even larger 450,000-square-foot facility is being constructed by Aligned Data Centers. The facility will be located in East Plano and will be the company’s third center in the area.
Google is also planning to enhance its presence in North Texas. The technology company plans to construct a $600 million data center in Red Oak, which will occupy 285,000 square feet once it's completed.
