The CW Network has made a special deal to broadcast the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants until 2027. The events will be live from Los Angeles at 8 to 10 p.m. ET on Aug. 4 and 1, respectively.
This year will be the first Miss USA competition with new rules meant to update the pageant to better represent the ambitions of today’s women, moving away from rules made over 70 years ago. For the first time, any adult woman can compete in Miss USA, no matter her age, marital status, or parental status.
The pageants will bring together winners from each state as they compete for the important title of Miss USA 2024 and Miss Teen USA 2024. Miss USA 2023 winner Noelia Voigt from Utah and Miss Teen USA 2023 winner UmaSofia Srivastava from New Jersey will be there to pass the crown to their replacements.
The new Miss USA winner will go on to represent the United States at the Miss Universe 2024 competition later this year.
Last year’s broadcast of the Miss USA pageant was the CW’s top new special of the year and had the best viewership in the last three years, reaching over 1.1 million total viewers, as per Nielsen.
“We are happy to continue working with the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA Organization to show these two important competitions that appeal to many fans across the country,” the CW’s head of unscripted Heather Olander said in a statement. “We are excited to continue the long history of these pageants, updated with a modern touch, on The CW for the next three years.”
“The Miss USA and Miss Teen USA Pageants have attracted audiences for many years with their strong commitment to making a positive impact in their communities,” the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA Organization CEO Laylah Rose added. “Through our exciting partnership with The CW, a mix of nostalgia and innovation, we are excited to display this important competition and remain a beloved tradition in family homes everywhere.”
Hosts, judges, and exact locations will be announced later. The 73rd Miss USA pageant is executive produced by Renato Basile.
