The Hazleton Area boys track and field team maintained their lead in Division 1, reaching 4-0 with a 97-53 victory over Dallas on Thursday.
Nolan Paulino secured the triple jump and the 400 dash for Hazleton. Joseph Mazaika (110 and 300 hurdles) and Franklin Ritz (800 and 1600 runs) also clinched two individual events each for the Cougars.
John Cummings claimed victories in shot put and discus for Dallas.
Crestwood won against Wilkes-Barre Area with a score of 87-63
Mason Staude won two individual events and contributed to a third win on the 3200 relay team as Crestwood defeated Wilkes-Barre Area.
Staude won the 800 and 3200 runs for the Comets. Noah Everett also secured wins in the discus and javelin.
Xanye Murphy won the high jump and the triple jump for Wilkes-Barre Area.
GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD
Dallas secured a win over Hazleton Area with a score of 89-61
The Mountaineers increased their lead in Division 1 with a victory over Hazleton Area. Morgan Langdon won the shot put and discus for Dallas, while Julia Natitus swept the 100 and 300 hurdles.
Gabriella Bredbenner was the only athlete to win two events for Hazleton, taking first place in the 200 and 400 dash events.
Crestwood defeated Wilkes-Barre Area with a score of 137-13
The Comets triumphed in 16 out of 18 events and claimed the points in 15 of those wins in a rout of the Wolfpack.
Cameron Vieney secured the long jump and triple jump for Crestwood, also contributing to a win as part of the 400 meter relay team. Bianca Long won the 100 and 300 hurdles for the Comets.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Crestwood won against Dallas with a score of 18-6
Gia Caporuscio scored seven goals as the Comets defeated Dallas. Jackie Gallagher had four goals, while Hannah Ziegler had a team-high four assists and one goal.
Dallas received two goals each from Gabby Rogaski, Ireland Walsh and Ella English. Taylor Pickett made 10 saves.
Scranton Prep won against Holy Redeemer with a score of 12-2
Scranton Prep took care of business against Holy Redeemer to remain unbeaten in the WVC, joining Crestwood as the only two league undefeated teams. Alexa Kleinberger led the Classics with four goals, while McKenna Toolan added three.
Gillian Parsons and Megan Albrecht each scored for the Royals, with Albrecht also assisting on the goal from Parsons.
Wyoming Area defeated Lake-Lehman with a score of 14-5
Addison Byers led all scorers with five goals as the Warriors defeated Lake-Lehman. Lyla Rehill and Jules Gonzales each scored four times for Wyoming Area.
Sara Womach had four goals for Lake-Lehman, with Ava Greene adding one goal.
BOYS TENNIS
MMI Prep won against Wilkes-Barre Area with a score of 4-1
The Preppers secured four wins in straight sets, cruising to victory over Wilkes-Barre Area. Max Bleiler and Nathan Sissick both clinched wins in singles for MMI, and both did so without dropping a single game.
Michael Hamel secured the lone point for the Wolfpack at No. 1 singles.
Holy Redeemer won against Dallas with a score of 3-2
The Royals secured two singles matches and clinched the match with a win from Jacob Ohrin and Jadon White in doubles action. Frank Klimovitz and Mateo Runde each secured wins in singles for Holy Redeemer.
Jack Barr secured the lone singles win for Dallas. Logan Tomkins and Andrew Menaker also secured a doubles win for the Mountaineers.
Tunkhannock won against Berwick with a score of 5-0
The Tigers won against Berwick with only losing one set in five matches. Aidan Edwards, Aidan Montross and Boti Batyky were victorious in singles for Tunkhannock.
The pairs of Ben Landon and Ryan Negvesky, and Lucas Mateus and Benny Zhu secured doubles victories for the Tigers.
Crestwood 4, Wyoming Area 1
The Comets now have a 7-3 record after defeating Wyoming Area. Tommy Biscotti and Spencer Young were the winners in singles for Crestwood.
Luca Argenio won in straight sets at No. 1 singles to earn the only point for Wyoming Area.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL
Holy Redeemer 3, Tunkhannock 0
The Royals swept Tunkhannock with Joshua Rocha recording 17 kills and George Sabatini adding 11 kills.
Holy Redeemer won with set scores of 25-11, 25-15 and 25-18. Mike Dubaskas contributed nine kills and seven blocks for the Royals.
Zachary MacBain achieved seven kills for the Tigers.
