A dead man, who has not been identified, was discovered in the Trinity River in east Fort Worth.
Police were dispatched dispatched on Monday at about 11:30 a.m. to a location along the Trinity River near Interstate 30 and Riverside Drive, as reported by WFAA.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiners Office is working to establish the cause of death and identify the deceased male, according to the police and WFAA.
This is the second report of a deceased body found in a river in the DFW metroplex this week.
As previously mentioned in The Dallas Express, an unidentified man's body was found at White Rock Creek on April 21 after he attempted to cross the creek.
A woman who was with the man called 911 on April 20 at 10:32 p.m. to report him missing. Police have provided limited information and do not know why the man was trying to cross the creek. The body was discovered on Sunday morning, and the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet released the cause of death or his identity.
White Rock Creek had high water levels over the weekend, according to the National Weather Association.
Severe weather created turmoil occurred across the DFW area last weekend. Power outages, flooding, and an increase in traffic accidents were reported, as noted by The Dallas Morning News.
The National Weather Service stated that the storms experienced last weekend set new records for the daily maximum rainfall at DFW Airport. The record for April 20 was 2.34 inches, breaking the 1942 record of 1.52 inches, as reported by DMN.
The area with the highest measured total rainfall in the metroplex was Dallas Love Field Airport, with 4.22 inches reported.
