Cunning Donald Trump always manages to find a way to bypass restrictions. On Monday, his Truth Social platform is speaking for him while he is in court, suggesting that people miss “Daddy Trump.”
The Trump trial is currently taking place in a Manhattan courtroom, but it is not being broadcasted. Some reporters are inside the courtroom, sharing updates with the public. One of them is Olivia Nuzzi, who has reported for New York Magazine. noted, Donald Trump is glaring in the direction of Judge Merchan as the trial officially begins. He is tilting his head dramatically and making trout-like movements with his mouth while listening to Judge Merchan.
That is a very distinct expression that we have witnessed numerous times from Trump.
Nuzzi also pointed out that while Trump is present in the courtroom, his Truth Social platform is conveying his desired image, which is…
As “Daddy Trump.”
“As Trump sits in the courtroom listening to Judge Merchan explain how his criminal trial is going to work, Truth Social sends out push notifications for the spate of posts sent from his account this morning, including one that refers to him as ‘Daddy Trump.'”

“Daddy Trump” is an intriguing choice, as it captures the essence of Trump’s appeal to his supporters. He presents himself as a strongman who intimidates the vulnerable, and this is appreciated by his followers. Therefore, seeing him being treated like anyone else in court is likely causing some cognitive dissonance for his more discerning followers. If left unaddressed, this could prompt people to reconsider their perception of Trump, which he cannot afford.
This is Trump’s way of reinforcing an image of himself as a beloved, revered leader even as he sits in a courtroom as the defendant in a criminal trial that essentially revolves around allegations of cheating to win the 2016 election.
You can observe Trump’s carefully constructed image beginning to unravel in various ways, and how these criminal trials are harming him in ways that are not directly related to the actual charges.
Trump and his representatives constantly argue that these trials are beneficial for Trump’s public standing. However, if they truly believed that, they wouldn't falsely blame President Joe Biden for Trump’s predicament. After all, if these trials were advantageous for Trump, he would express gratitude to the President of the United States if he genuinely believed Biden was behind these trials.
However, Biden is not responsible for these trials. There is zero evidence to support that claim, and Biden certainly did not compel Trump to collaborate with the owner of the Enquirer to suppress negative stories about himself or to pay off an adult film actress to keep quiet about an alleged affair.
Biden wasn’t even running against Trump in the 2016 presidential election, so he had no involvement in Trump's decision to have his personal “fixer” pay Stormy Daniels for her silence. The issue here is that Trump is accused of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records for payments to Daniels.
According to experts, former president Donald Trump is very unhappy and psychologically distressed when he has to sit quietly in a courtroom while others speak negatively about him. Trump built his whole empire and presidency on stories that were often not true.
As president, Trump didn't take the pandemic seriously, leading to many deaths. He was more focused on his own election than on the well-being of the people. A responsible leader would not allegedly share important secrets or incite attacks against his own country.
Conservative media has hidden these facts, making it difficult for Trump to control the narrative during this trial. This allows some truth to enter his supporters' closed-off view. Trump knows that being seen as not in control is a big threat. So, despite the image of “Daddy Trump,” the reality is a weakened Trump who falls asleep during his trial.
