During their opening statement, prosecutors informed the court, “You will witness a lot of text messages, and many phone calls surrounding that meeting.”
see the flurry of text messages, the barrage of phone calls around that meeting.”
CNN’s Dana Bash responded, “That is intriguing. It really gives insight into the fact that it’s not just going to be Michael Cohen’s testimony, or someone else’s. Prosecutors will present evidence.”
Those pieces of evidence pose a problem for Donald Trump in this case. Trump’s legal team will challenge the credibility of the witnesses, but they will struggle to dispute the physical evidence that shows Donald Trump engaged in illegal activity.
It's not just Trump's word against Michael Cohen, Stormy Daniels, and other witnesses. It's Trump's word without any physical evidence to support him.
The significant aspect that some overlook in this case is the abundance of physical evidence against Trump, and how well the defense can explain away that evidence will determine whether the former president is convicted.
