EDWARDSVILLE — Authorities in Edwardsville apprehended a man they say stabbed another man after the two men accidentally collided inside a home on Main Street on Saturday night.
Taylor A. McGoldrick, 33, whose address is listed as homeless, confessed to stabbing Rajon Paylor inside a house in the 500 block of Main Street, based on court records.
McGoldrick informed the police, according to court records, that he became very angry when he collided with Paylor as Paylor was entering a room just as McGoldrick was exiting.
Paylor told the police that he was not acquainted with McGoldrick, who had moved into the residence three days earlier.
Authorities stated that Paylor sustained a stab wound to the back of his neck and on his face.
Following the supposed stabbing, authorities detained McGoldrick on Green Street in Edwardsville.
According to court records, the police found McGoldrick in possession of a kitchen knife in his waistband.
Another knife with blood spatter was discovered outside the rear door of the residence where McGoldrick and Paylor got into the altercation, court records noted.
McGoldrick was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, and harassment, and was arraigned by District Judge Joseph Spagnuolo of Plains Township. Due to a lack of $50,000 bail, he was incarcerated at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility.
