Expensive luxury brand Chanel has come back to Dallas after making big changes at its Highland Park location.
Chanel is one of many luxury options in Dallas. The renovated store has a new design and improvements that clearly show how fancy it is. The location is described as getting ideas from Gabrielle Chanel’s decorating style by Town and Country Magazine. Women’s Wear Daily wrote that the renovations allowed Chanel to double the amount of retail space. The renovations were finished in March.
A color scheme on the lower floor includes neutral colors with pink, yellow, and gold accents that add some of the energy of Texas to the unmistakably French design house. Five boutique salons offer handbags, jewelry, and watches in stylish displays. The back of the store is mainly for the perfume and fragrance salon, which is painted in sparkling black to give the space a touch of drama and romance.
Upstairs, customers will find the ready-to-wear clothing salon. A separate area is dedicated to the brand’s shoe lines, very popular with the high society of Dallas. Antique furniture and impressive sculptures help create a feeling of being in Gabrielle Chanel’s private residences. The space has been specially designed to give it a residential feel rather than a shop-like appearance.
Some of the remarkable antiques and sculptures include ceramic sculptures by Bruno Gambone, an 18th-century Chinese coromandel screen, Chinese Sancai-glazed ceramic lions from the Ming dynasty, a Peter Marino bronze box, and antique chairs from celebrated designers. The furnishings are worth checking out.
The first featured designer to be showcased at the new store will be the Spring and Summer collection created by Virginie Viard. The collection includes light tweed and neoprene suiting, striped terry cloth jackets, swimsuits, lace dresses and trousers, and see-through organza separates made for layering, per reporting by DuJour.
“I tried to bring one thing and its opposite together in the coolest way possible,” Viard said to the luxury lifestyle magazine. “And the gardens and swimming pool of the villa Noailles, that exceptional setting, lend themselves to that rather well.”
Chanel is located at Highland Park Village, a historic location featuring Spanish-style architecture and park-like landscaping. The Village is considered the first shopping center with a unified design and a planned development. It originally opened in 1931 and has evolved to become a destination for luxury shopping. Development of the Village took over 20 years to complete due to the Great Depression and World War II.
Culture Map Dallas ranks the community as the most affluent neighborhood in Texas and, as of 2018, the ninth-wealthiest in the nation.
