After a long wait, Taylor Swift's fans were surprised with the release of her new album. The album is called 'The Tortured Poets Department'. Initially, the album seemed to be fully released, but Swift then revealed 15 additional songs at 2 a.m., making it a double album.
On social media, Swift explained that this is the second part of 'TTPD: The Anthology', sharing 15 extra songs to make the album complete.
Swift first mentioned the album at the Grammys in February, and the titles of the album and songs hinted at it being about a breakup. Fans have speculated that it may be addressing Joe Alwyn, Matt Healey, and Kim Kardashian. The “Eras Tour” creator gave a sneak peek of her 11th studio album at midnight and stated that she is closing this chapter of her life with its release. Swift wrote that the album reflects moments from a difficult time in her life and that she believes expressing her saddest story allows her to move on. She also mentioned that many of the situations were self-inflicted.
All 31 songs of “The Tortured Poets Department” are now available. A music video for the song “Fortnight” featuring Post Malone will be released at 8 p.m. on Friday.
“The Tortured Poets Department” features a total of 31 songs and Swift will kick off the Eras Tour in Paris on May 9, followed by international and U.S. dates in the summer and fall.
